Most of us know what ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder), but there is a less known subset of called complex ptsd. While they can both have similar symptoms, ptsd is limited to a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, sexual assault while C-ptsd is the result of repeated trauma with no escape. It is most commonly seen with survivors of child abuse, many of whom may not even know they are suffering from c-ptsd. Join me as I share my own experience with the c-ptsd and the ways in which it can manifest in our lives as adult survivors of child abuse, long after we have separated ourselves from our toxic households.

There is often a lot of focus about racism and its harmful affects in the Black community, especially as it pertains to Black men. But conversation about the plight of Black women, who face high levels of murder, physical and sexual violence is often met with denial, gaslighting and silence. Often, being alone is seen as something to be pitied, unhealthy or a sure way to becoming a school shooter in our society.
