Post-draft NFL fantasy power rankings: Offenses we love, like and want to stay away from

1h 15m · Published 08 May 01:45

With free agency and the draft behind us, what 32 teams look like today will likely be what they look like Week 1 and beyond for the 2024 season. Matt Harmon and Scott Pianowski reveal the post-draft fantasy power rankings. The duo break down the rankings in six tiers: Elite offensive ecosystems, teams on the cusp of being complete mixed bag ecosystems, offensive ecosystems with something to prove, offenses that could go either way, and offenses that are best to stay away from in fantasy.

The two start out by identifying the top ten offenses in the league and what makes each an ecosystem worth investing in. Harmon and Pianowski dive into what the Lions and Texans have for an encore in 2024 and what they're true ceiling is after breakout seasons in 2023.

The duo then identifies the next tier of offenses: Ones we like but have major questions about them. Harmon can't contain his enthusiasm for the Colts offense but knows we still need to see Anthony Richardson for a full healthy season. Harmon and Pianowski also try to make sense of the Cowboys RB room and Packers WR room.

The two end the show listing the offenses that have something to prove but could be diamonds in the rough this season in terms of fantasy value. They also list the six offenses you likely want to avoid this season given they are under major rebuilds or reconstructions.

Dynasty Rookie Superflex Mock Draft with Matt Waldman

1h 24m · Published 02 May 21:57

With the draft in the rear view there is no better time to do a dynasty rookie mock draft. Football Guy's Matt Waldman joins Matt Harmon for a two round Superflex format dynasty draft. The two debate the biggest topics of rookie mock drafts and when Marvin Harrison Jr. should come off the board. The two also identify deep dynasty sleepers to consider in later rounds.

To start the pod, Waldman shares his thoughts on Caleb Williams and what makes him a truly special prospect at the QB position. Harmon also struggles to identify when to take Jayden Daniels over the elite three WRs. The two also discuss the production ceiling for WR Ladd McConkey in his rookie year as he will likely be the top passing threat for Justin Herbert.

The biggest debate, by far in the pod, was when to take Bills WR Keon Coleman. Waldman thinks he could be special at the next level while Harmon shares his doubts. The two discuss if Josh Allen can maximize his potential in the NFL and if Coleman has what it takes to be a true WR1 in the NFL.

After the break, the two dive into the second round which includes Waldman defending the Atlanta Falcons for taking Michael Penix Jr. The two also identify deep dynasty sleepers that could be steals in the second and third round.

NFL Draft fantasy winners and losers + Biggest debates in dynasty rookie rankings

1h 13m · Published 30 Apr 23:57

Matt Harmon and Andy Behrens go where no pod has gone before after the NFL Draft. They identify the biggest winners and losers in the fantasy world. This is totally an original idea so don't fact check us. Behrens also reveals the four biggest debates he had when putting together his rookie dynasty rankings.

To start the show, Behrens shares his thoughts on the Bears dynamic draft that saw them snag Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze in the first and the Iowa punter in the fourth round. Being a Hawkeye alum, Behrens is over the moon with the Bears selections and is counting down the days to a Super Bowl parade.

The two then share, secret list style, their three biggest winners and losers from this year's NFL Draft with a focus on players that will now have to face competition from rookie teammates and those are look like they are in the clear for tons of volume. Both agree Las Vegas Raiders RB Zamir White might be the biggest winner of the draft while his new teammate Brock Bowers might be the biggest loser.

To end the show, Behrens shares the four biggest debates he had with himself when putting together his rookie dynasty rankings. Harmon and Behrens discuss the biggest hot button debates that will dominate dynasty rookie drafts this summer.

NFL Draft Rounds 2-7 recap: Rookie fantasy fits we love and question

1h 8m · Published 28 Apr 23:54

The NFL Draft is officially in the books. We no longer need to speculate on where guys will go. Now it's time to see how they fit. Matt Harmon and Charles McDonald look at the rookie fantasy fits they love, the ones they question and the group of picks that are great real life picks but rather 'meh' for fantasy purposes.

To start the show the duo highlight fantasy fits that they love. Harmon and McDonald agree that WR Ladd McConkey going to the Chargers is a match made in heaven with Justin Herbert. Harmon speculates if McConkey can have a more productive rookie season that Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze with his opportunity for targets. Harmon is also bullish on RB Trey Benson going to Arizona and thinks he could be a potential late season 'league winner' in 2024. McDonald and Harmon disagree on the Dolphins selection of RB Jaylen Wright.

After the break, the two identify picks that they didn't love but questioned how they'd fit for fantasy purposes. Harmon is still very skeptical of how WR Keon Coleman will work in Buffalo. McDonald is willing trust the talent of Josh Allen to make it work. The two also wonder how WR Malachi Corley will be used in New York and if Nathanial Hackett will be able to maximize him in the slot.

The two end the show with four picks that they thought were great in real life but very 'meh' for fantasy purposes. No pick caused more anguish in the fantasy community than the L.A. Rams taking RB Blake Corum. The two were also confused by the Green Bay Packers taking RB Marshawn Lloyd after signing Josh Jacobs this offseason.

Teams that will shape the Draft: QB needy teams outside top ten + top ten teams we can't figure out

58m · Published 23 Apr 21:11

We have officially entered 'silly season' of NFL Draft week where rumors are rampant and everything must be taken with a grain of salt. Fear not, Matt Harmon and Fantasy Pro's Thor Nystrom are here to cut through the smoke. Concluding our 'teams that will shape the Draft' series, the two look at the QB needy teams outside the top ten - Minnesota, Denver, Las Vegas - as well as teams inside the top ten that could be wild cards - New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and New York Jets.

To start the show, Harmon and Nystrom dive into the Minnesota Vikings and what possibilities exist for them to jump in the draft to take JJ McCarthy or Drake Maye. The duo looks at how the top QBs could fit in Kevin O'Connell's offense and Justin Jefferson.

The two then try to make sense of the Denver Broncos after they acquired Zach Wilson from the New York Jets in a trade. Given that Denver might have the worst QB room in the league, the duo try to figure out which rookie QB is the most realistic option and best fit for Sean Payton's scheme. The two discuss Bo Nix's potential in Denver and if they can trade down and still acquire the Oregon QB later in the draft.

Harmon and Nystrom have a similar conversation about the Las Vegas Raiders QB room and if they could be a dark horse team to trade up for QB. After the break the two try to predict what the New York Giants, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans do with their top ten picks.

1:20 - Programming note: Yahoo Sports is going BIG for Draft Week coverage

3:40 - Minnesota Vikings: Do they have the ammunition to land JJ McCarthy or Drake Maye?

22:25 - Denver Broncos: What are they doing? Who are they? Are they really that bad?

35:50 - Las Vegas Raiders: Are they a dark horse to trade up for a QB?

39:15 - New York Giants: Do they take a top WR or swing for a QB?

46:30 - New York Jets: Rome Odunze, Brock Bowers or OL?

50:27 - Tennessee Titans: What's the best move to help Will Levis in this new look offense?

Draft Deep Dive: TEs + Top OL prospects + Best fantasy fits for Brock Bowers

1h 13m · Published 18 Apr 23:53

We are just one week away from all the projections, rumors and lies from being put to rest. The Draft is almost there. We put a bow on our 'Draft Deep Dive' series with Yahoo's draft guru Charles McDonald by looking at the top TE and OL prospects in this year's draft.

Of course we can't begin anywhere else than looking at Georgia TE Brock Bowers and what type of impact he could make instantly in the NFL. McDonald and Harmon dive into what makes him a unique talent at the TE position and worthy of being a top ten pick.

McDonald, a Georgia fan, recaps his illustrious career in Athens and what team fits could get the most out of him at the next level. Harmon wonders if some teams won't know how to use him and if that could lead to him sliding out of the top ten in the draft.

The duo then look at day two TEs that could develop into starters in the NFL. After the break Harmon and McDonald look at the top ten OL prospects list from Nate Tice and dissect what makes each a first round talent. Harmon and McDonald agree that the OL position might be the deepest in top tier talent of any position this year.
