Serial Entrepreneurship with Mike Savage

47m · Published 29 Mar 10:00

Entrepreneurship is a blessing and a curse. For so many of us who are bitten, we never get it out of our systems. Mike Savage is one such case. He’s a serial entrepreneur and badass business coach who has spent years building, growing, selling, and starting over with business after business.

He now helps up and coming entrepreneurs and business owners to reach the next level in their own businesses, no matter which level that is. His passion is to help entrepreneurs who are driven, make big, bold steps forward.

It all started, sadly, after his father passed away. His dad owned a pharmacy and rather than watch her husband’s life’s work fall away, Mike’s mom took up the reins and kept the business going. Despite having lost her husband, mom and aunt all in a short period of time, she kept going.

After getting his degree in engineering, it didn’t take him long to realize the corporate world wasn’t for him. He really checked out after developing a tool to help people read while working out on exercise machines that took off.

That was the first of many businesses that he grew to multiple seven-figures and now he’s ready to help you do the same. Listen in as he shares his story and why he’s so passionate about helping entrepreneurs.

In this Episode:

10 to Win - Lessons in Leadership from Ted Lasso

11m · Published 22 Mar 10:00

If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you know that I’m not big into TV. If I have free time, then I’m typically listening to podcasts, reading, or doing some other personal development activity.

A friend of mine recommended that I watch Ted Lasso earlier this year and since the family was going on vacation, I decided to give it a try. Imagine my surprise when before I knew it, I’d binged 10hrs of the show.

What struck me the most were the number of amazing lessons in leadership that the show tackled. I loved their take on what it takes to be a great leader, even when you don’t necessarily have experience in the field.

Real quick, the four lessons are:

  1. Kindness matters…
  2. Everyone matters…
  3. The job of a leader is to make people better…
  4. Believe in yourself

Listen in to hear all of my insights on the lessons in leadership I learned from Ted Lasso. Have you watched? What did you learn?

In this episode:

[00:50] Welcome back! It’s time to learn all about leadership from Ted Lasso.

[01:51] I don’t really watch TV but a friend recommended Ted Lasso and I couldn’t stop.

[03:31] The first lesson in leadership from Ted Lass is that kindness matters.

[05:37] Everyone matters, even those who may seem invisible.

[06:56] The job of a leader is to make people better.

[08:48] The fourth lesson is simply to believe.

10 to Win - Social Listening

9m · Published 08 Mar 11:00

Are you listening to what is being said about you, your product or service, and your brand? Are you aware of what your market is truly looking for and how you can provide a solution? If not, you’re leaving money on the table. Join me as I share my insights and thoughts and why we all need to spend more time practicing social listening.

First things first, what is social listening? According to Hootsuite, social listening is tracking social media platforms for mentions and conversations related to your brand, then analyzing them for insights to discover opportunities to act.

I think that last part is what is most important. We need to know when and how to act. When you incorporate social listening into your strategy, you’ll have the data you need to back up your decisions.

Listen as I share how you should approach what to listen for, how to incorporate social listening into your market research strategy, and which tools I think may be best to start with on this journey.

As you know, I believe strongly that we need to relearn the art of listening. Social listening is a new way to listen to the needs of the market and your customer. Are you listening?

In this episode:

[00:50] Welcome back to 10 to Win to learn about social listening.

[02:04] What is social listening?

[02:50] Learn about the benefits of social listening.

[03:41] Good social listening is about choosing the keywords that are important to you and your business.

[05:50] The tools you should explore for your business.

[08:10] Social listening is not just about tracking metrics.

Owwll with Jason Hill

53m · Published 01 Mar 11:00

When entrepreneurship is in your blood, you can’t help but see problems that need solutions. Jason Hill was raised by an entrepreneur and decided to use his knowledge in the financial services world. He is now helping entrepreneurs all over the nation by creating an app that allows people to get their questions answered by experts, 1:1.

As Jason was growing his financial services business he realized there were times that he needed the help of an expert, but just to ask one quick question. Think about it. How many times have you seen something happening in your business and just needed a bit of advice, not a whole coaching relationship?

Additionally, how amazing would it be to have access to true experts in their field? Imagine being able to be on a call with Mark Cuban or Jeff Bezos for a few minutes and paying a small sum of money to get in contact.

Now he’s not saying huge names are actually joining the app, but the goal is to allow people to connect and share knowledge in an organic way. Actually getting on a phone call, answering questions, and getting paid.

Jason is sharing his story as well as his hopes for the Owwll app. He is revolutionizing the way we share our knowledge with each other and elevating the world of entrepreneurship.

Are you going to join Owwll?

In this episode:

[01:44] Welcome to the show, Jason!

[02:08] He shares his story and what he’s doing now.

[04:21] Listen as Jason discusses why he chose to go into financial services.

[06:16] He talks about working in financial services and when he became an entrepreneur.

[08:28] He speaks about moving his business from New York to Boca Raton.

[10:31] Jason got into podcasting as a form of business development.

[13:38] How they bring people in with their podcast.

[14:47] Jason discusses creating the Owwll App and the value it brings.

[19:11] The app will be available to everyone in March.

[20:33] He believes that his app will help entrepreneurs connect with people who can help them build their businesses.

[24:35] Learn about the cost of using the app.

[27:49] The Owwll App is designed to compete against search engines for entrepreneurs looking to talk to experts in their field.

[31:28] Jason shares the process to become an expert on the platform.

[35:45] He discusses creating a business from the ground up and rewarding people.

[38:52] His three pieces of advice for entrepreneurs.
