Brew Roots

by Brew Roots

Brew Roots is a podcast that features a behind the scene look into some of our favorite beers from all over.

Our missions is to tell the stories of the brewers who make great beer and how they got there.

Join us each week as we discover a different brewery and we talk to their team about the beer, the brewers and how they got there. On top of that we will mix in some beer reviews, beer news and events happening in the beer community.

Cheers

Goodwater Brewery

37m · Published 16 Dec 05:21

There is some damn "Goodwater" just outside of Burlington Vermont, Yes pun intended. Marty (Co-Owner) of Goodwater Brewery takes a classic approach to modern styles of beer. Brewing on a 20 barrel system the team over at Goodwater are giving the community of Williston VT and beyond some really cool styles, such as their Oat Pale Ale (OPA) or even their Proper Mild, not to mention their food offerings. Make sure you make your way up or down depending on where you're located to Goodwater Brewery.

Did you know the nickname for Burlington is the Queen City? Well our guest this week Ben from Queen City Brewery explains why. That's it that's all we talked about. Just kidding... We talked a lot about the Burlington Scene, how they're making a name for themselves with their classic styles offering and just simply making great beer. We can't wait to go back.

Switchback Brewing Company

56m · Published 11 Nov 05:51

We were lucky enough to talk to one of the OGs in the beer scene Bill Cherry from Switchback Brewing. When Switchback opened initially it was their goal “to brew unexpected, relatable, great tasting beer” safe to say 20 years later they’ve kept true to their goal. The team over a Switchback keeps true to their brewing methods by keeping the beer unfiltered and carbonating it 100% naturally. Not to mention they have probably the largest selection of Smoked Beers we’ve ever seen!

This episode has a lot of fun discussions and is a great listens!

Cheers!

Make sure to find Switchback Beer at a store near you or go to their location in Burlington Vermont.

Twin Elephant Brewing Co

58m · Published 13 Oct 23:59

Our guest this week resides about 30 miles south of New York City in Chatham Borough New Jersey. Fun Fact did you know Chatham has one sister city. It is in Esternay, France. Thanks Wikipedia!

Twin Elephant Brewing Co. was founded by 3 partners who wanted to take their passion for beer and share it with the community. Known for their extremely fresh variety of high quality, handcrafted ales and lagers it's safe to say we're into what they're throwing down. We sat down with Cindy (Co-Owner) and talk about the weird laws in New Jersey, Beer, and the best place to get a pizza slice.

Well enjoy!

Penny Pinchers

58m · Published 30 Sep 04:29

One of our favorite things about interviewing nano-breweries is that they're small enough to test and try new things. Jay over at Penny Pinchers loves to explore new flavors what that means for us every time we stop by Penny Pinchers we get to try a new great beer. While Jay is known for pushing the limits with his beer that doesn't mean he doesn't do everything possible to make sure the beer being served is perfect for their patrons. This episode is a lot of fun and if you heard our interview with them during the Mass Brewers Guild Freshman class you're in for almost a completely different story but isn't that what craft beer is , alway evolving.

There is something about Music and Beer that just pairs so well. Our new friend Jonathan co-founder at New Groove Artisan Brewery was a former Drum Line instructor who attributes his love of food, service and science to why he picked up home brewing many years ago.
