A few of you might take exception to today's message, but this is the world as I see it, and I'm personally endorsing this week's message. In addition to reminding you that a brand new slate is about to be placed in front of you. You can rewind, re-energize, and re-focus your attention and all the good you were about to do in the year 2024, or youi can lament the past.

I am also going to share a recent customers experience I had this week with a local Verizon store, which may or may not surprise you. I should not have been surprised, knowing that customer service in our country is going the way of the "perfect game" in baseball. If you need a clue, the perfect games, are far and few between. (No hits, no runs, nobody reaching base.)

You are in total control of your future, and way you handle yourself in the eyes of your potential clients lies entirely in your hands ... and with your actions. My advice to you as you swing into 2024 is not to blow the many opportunities that are about to come your way.

This week's episode came from reading, a recent article in Inc. Magazine. The article featured Taylor Swift, who has become a household name weathe you enjoy listening to her music or not. She was recently named person of the year .... and we were not.

The three items Ms. Swift shared with the author started with the letters, P, E, and P. They stood for Preparation, Expectations, and Perspective.

While freading, I was reminded of a few messages I have been sharing for years. I found myself smiling as I endorsed each point separately.

Sharing information for nearly 40 years and writing over 2000 articles on the subjects of sales and marketing can lead to a temporary "lull." I find myself asking, "What can I say today that is new, or at least meaningful?"

Live current events often makle up my weekly messages, and this past week is no exception. We were visiting my wife's brother and sister-in-law in Sarasota, FL when I was once again reminded of the importance of listening.

In this instance we were the recipient of a non-stop verbal updating that soon became the topic of this week's message.

Today's message clearly reminds us not to wish our lives away. Time has a way of passing us by with or without our consent. Today's message reminds us of the importance of doing what we can today to avoid disappointment tomorrow. All good farmers know that it is wise to mow the fields in dry weather and complete the task before the weather changes. Likewise, intelligent decisions today regarding our future health will make the days ahead more fruitful and enjoyable.

And so it is with our businesses. While we have the energy, the tools and the proper attitude it is high time we communicate with both our prospects and clients to avoid having to utter the meaningless phrase "I should have."
