Episode 55: Lead by Service - Feat. Jared Slater | Real Voices Podcast

34m · Published 14 Dec 12:00

In this episode of Real Voices Podcast, we talk with Jared Slater, REALTOR®.

Prior to getting into real estate and getting his license, Jared Slater was a boat captain, and the owner/operator of a scuba diving charter company. “{Being a boat captain} is similar to becoming a real estate agent,” Jared says. “There’s a certification process that you have to go through, the schooling is intense. But once you get out of the schooling, the real life application means nothing…just like the real estate industry. The stuff they teach you is nothing like the real world!”

Finding his footing after a time and having to learn most things on his own, Jared discovered his niche to be in the education of first time homebuyers. “Part of the education process is running different advertisements to attract those buyers, but really offering service. There’s no catch, there’s no gimmick in it…it’s literally ‘lead by service.’”

Episode 54: Give Them Massive Value - Feat. Nicole Aldaz | Real Voices Podcast

23m · Published 07 Dec 11:00

In this episode of Real Voices Podcast, we talk with Nicole Aldaz, REALTOR® since 2019, previously a regional manager of guest services in the restaurant industry and accountant, who grew up wanting to be an architect. “The lines, how things look...are attractive to me.”

Nicole has always built her philosophy and business around helping others, how they may be able to benefit from her knowledge, insight, services, and caring. “Generosity and attraction: It can’t be related to numbers or to money,” she says. “If you’re on a mission to help people, to achieve their goals, to partner with charities, to be part of a cause, it’s definitely attractive.”

“There’s so many aspects to being able to help people. I felt like I could help people achieve their goals and protect them from things they might not know.”

Episode 53: It Just Made Sense - Feat. Christian Wangsgard | Real Voice Podcast

25m · Published 30 Nov 12:00

In this episode of Real Voices Podcast, we talk with Christian Wangsgard, REALTOR®, who began his career as a restaurant developer. “I thought it’d be awesome just to get free food all the time!” The hours and workload, however, were not something he wished to continue and, in time, he gave real estate a shot. This was over four years ago.

“It was scary getting into real estate, something that is your own business,” Christian says. During his first months, “...I was door-knocking, holding open houses, talking to people. I got a lot of clients that way.”

Christian eventually found it was better to join a team as it was more conducive to a learning environment and repeat business. “I’m getting to the point in my career where I’m not always having to chase that next deal. I’m having return clients come to me.”

Episode 52: A Longer-Term Relationship - Feat. Woody Livingston | Real Voices Podcast

31m · Published 16 Nov 09:30

In this episode of Real Voices Podcast, we talk with Woody Livingston, REALTOR®.

A real estate agent for nearly two years, Woody Livingston is familiar with real estate as his previous career was in home inspections and even franchising for that industry.

“That’s where I’ve been finding my clients, people I know, people that I meet,” he says. “Especially now working with buyers when it takes so much to really find a house for most people...you get to know ‘em and get to love ‘em and they become dear friends.”

“Trying to help people understand now — again because you care about them — there’s a lot of forces in play {regarding purchasing in the current market}. Interest rates are really low...there’s tons of demand for housing...you probably ought to think about doing it, make sure you’re in the place you want to be for the next X amount of time.”

Episode 51: No Better Feeling - Feat. Dalton Osmanski | Real Voices Podcast

23m · Published 02 Nov 10:00

In this episode of Real Voices Podcast, we talk with Dalton Osmanski, REALTOR®.

Dalton Osmanski, a full-time real estate agent and investor for four years, lived at home for quite some time to attain his goals to start investing in real estate. “I think I had a vision that was bigger than any comment that could ever be made {about living with my parents}; I knew I was going to be a homeowner sooner than later.”

“When I first got started in real estate...I had this thought in my mind that I needed to be spending money to make money,” Dalton says about leads, organic and paid. “Now I just focus on reaching out to people on Facebook, contributing to my community...marketing properties I have for clients.”

“There are so many duties {when starting out as an agent}...you’re just changing hats...and finding systems and ways to make it more efficient. I’ve definitely used a lot of technology to make my life a little bit easier.”

20m · Published 26 Oct 09:30

In this episode of Real Voices Podcast, we talk with Marco Bravo, REALTOR®.

Marco Bravo, previously an educator for 16 years, jumped into real estate just three months ago. Just like with education, he found that in the real estate industry he really loved talking to people and learning. “The skills I have from teaching conveyed-over to real estate, and I feel like it’s very compatible,” he says.

“When I first got my real estate license, it was kind of like, okay, now what...what do I do now?” Marco says. But his search for a team and an atmosphere of learning led him to his current position on a successful team. “You don’t know what you don’t know. There are things that come up that are very unique to each transaction. Having this team behind me...helps me learn.”

“Obviously, when you are a teacher, you are all about public service and helping others. I love — it’s in my blood to help others and be of help and get them excited about stuff.” Switching to real estate, Thanaa says she wanted to make other people happy when getting their own homes.

“If your focus is your client and their best interest is your number one priority, they feel it, you don’t have to tell them, they will just feel it.”

Stephen Liby went to college to become a computer programmer yet decided to make the change to real estate as his previous occupation was becoming monotonous and he was becoming very worn out.

“And that is absolutely not the case with real estate!”

“Everyday is different,” Stephen says. “For the first six months, I did a lot of work but not a lot of forward movement. I was a little too scattered trying every new thing.” Working with others and a team dynamic, however, has now given him direction and purpose, and he’s even found himself mentoring new agents.
