#23 - How to feel empowered in your journey of self discovery with Lucie Lachaux

29m · Published 18 Apr 02:00

In our latest episode, I sit down with Lucie Lachaux to discuss not only how cultivating self-awareness can lead you to a life that truly matters, but also embracing that change and leading with empathy within yourself can help guide you to that meaningful life you have been longing for.

I know it’s a lot to take in and consider. That’s why it broke it down into 5 key takeaways that you can start applying today.

Here are the 5 key takeaways you can take home and learn from our conversation.

5 Key Takeaways:

  1. Embrace transition: Lucie transitioned from a high-pressure finance role in the pharmaceutical industry to establishing her own jewelry and coaching businesses. Her journey highlights the importance of reflecting on personal likes and dislikes, realizing the value of personal fulfillment over professional achievements, and the courage to change paths for a more meaningful life.
  2. You have all the answers: Lucie emphasizes that coaching is about providing tools for individuals to find their own answers, empowering them to create lives that matter to themselves. Her approach focuses on self-discovery, personal responsibility, and enabling clients to draw on their strengths to overcome challenges.
  3. Take care of yourself: Recognizing the disconnection from her personal life in her previous career, Lucie now prioritizes healthy breaks and self-reflection. She understands the importance of balancing professional ambitions with personal well-being, making time for family, meditation, and physical health as non-negotiable elements of her daily routine.
  4. Fight for what matters: Lucie’s mission is to inspire and empower people to pursue lives that are genuinely fulfilling and aligned with their values. She believes in fighting for what truly matters, using her own experiences of struggle and self-belief as a testament to the strength that comes from knowing and pursuing one’s purpose.
  5. Lead with curiosity: Lucie values curiosity, continuous learning, and the development of empathy, active listening, and vulnerability as crucial skills for personal and professional growth. She advocates for a leadership style that is empathetic and inclusive, and she sees challenges and mistakes as opportunities for learning and growth, essential for a fulfilling life journey.

  1. Passion-Powered Purpose: Just as Victoria discovered her passion for hands-on recruitment and coaching, she took a moment to explore what truly energizes her. Whether it's building recruitment processes, offering training, or mentoring, embracing your passions can fuel a purpose-driven life and something we can all learn from her.

From choosing where you work to embracing challenges that enrich your journey, it's about owning your path and living authentically.
  3. Confronting Fear and Challenges: Acknowledge your fears but don't let them define you. Break down barriers, step out of your comfort zone, and realize that challenges are opportunities for growth. Remember, the only limits are the ones you impose on yourself.

#15 - Entrepreneurship with Daniël Wijnroks

48m · Published 24 Apr 16:49

In this episode, we will be listening to Daniël Wijnroks, a 24-year-old entrepreneur, talks about his upbringing in the Netherlands and his exposure to both Portuguese and Dutch cultures. He discovered entrepreneurship at the age of 12 when he saw wealthy yacht owners and decided to create his own way of making money, which he monetized and made a couple hundred per month (at the age of 12!).

He later founded his own company called Place of Performance, which has three labels, including OPA, an Online Performance Agency that helps businesses grow through online marketing.

Throughout Daniël’s experience with running a business, he emphasizes the importance of balancing urgent and important work and highlights the significance of monitoring KPIs, especially for sales and customer happiness, to ensure growth.

He also talks about the importance of daily routines, such as stand-ups, to improve communication and productivity with his team.

In the early stages of his company, Daniël has experienced that the founder has to wear multiple hats, including finance controller, acquisitions, content writer, and personal growth leader. However, having a team is the most important aspect for success due to the fact that the founder can only do so much and has the ability to share their vision with the team which allows them to work together to achieve their goals and grow together.

To wrap it up, Daniël and I discuss the importance of belief in oneself, the benefits of having a coach/mentor who can guide you by asking questions, and the importance of good marketing in running a successful business.

Daniël truly believes that entrepreneurship is about visualizing and communicating that vision to a team of enthusiastic people to get everyone on the same page.

And last but not least, we discuss the importance of love and guidance in developing confidence and reaching your potential.

To this day, Daniël is working hard in giving people the energy to grow so that everyone can reach their full potential. A true inspiration.

#14 - Photography with Eva Mels

21m · Published 19 Mar 11:00

Meet Eva, a photography student in the city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Eva is resilient when it comes to photography and doing it her own way, from diving into mental images to acquiring the ability to visualize abstract items such as Alzheimer's through photographs. I had the pleasure to meet Eva at a local bar in Utrecht known as Walden.

In this episode, Eva and I talk about photography and what it truly means for her. How photographs are pieces of reality and what it means when someone says 'a picture is worth a thousand words'. We touch upon what mental images are and what they mean for everyone and what Eva's biggest obstacles are as an upcoming photographer.

The biggest takeaway from my conversation with Eva was her perspective on facing upcoming challenges which she asks herself, "What's holding you back?". With the answer to this question, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Check out Eva's artist Instagram and show some love & support!
