Her pre-medical background was in Obesity Management & Exercise Physiology. She is passionate about using a whole-food, plant-based diet and other lifestyle medicine modalities to help people get healthier, get off of medications, and live longer fuller lives.

She joined the American College of Lifestyle Medicine in 2013 which allowed her to discover the significant impact of the Whole Plant Food Based (WPFD) diet on overall health. Dr. Fontaine started a Lifestyle Medicine Clinic and became the Medical Director of Lifestyle Medicine at a community hospital and became a founding member of RiseVT (www.risevt.org). 

She is passionate and driven to help people achieve lifestyle changes for improving the health of the collective community. Today, she is the CEO of Let’s Lead, a nurse executive-physician dyad coaching emerging leaders and practitioners to their careers and lives best grounded in wellbeing.

The coronavirus pandemic has overwhelmed hospitals, physicians, and the medical community. It has pushed telemedicine into the hands of providers and patients as the first response for primary care. But how does it work and what does it mean for the future of health care?

In this episode, Laura Purdy enlightens us on the meaning and benefits of telemedicine. She shares some insights and methods for running a successful business and Telehealth organization. 

To give you a little background on our guest, Laura Purdy is a board-certified family medicine physician who is wrapping up 14 years as an officer in the US Army. She started working in telemedicine in 2016 as a full-time physician and became the medical director of MDLIVE.

After MDLIVE, Laura became one of the Regional Medical Directors of Hims and Hers, and entered the telehealth industry gig-economy style. She has 49 (soon to be 51!) state medical licenses and has co-founded two telehealth companies.
