Wellbeings & Co Podcast notes Ep 11 Soul of the Earth

Spending time with proud indigenous woman Maree Edwards is always a rewarding and enriching experience, and this conversation is no different, as we discuss the focus given to health and wellbeing her workplace and finding more effective ways to reconcile the differences between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.

Maree also talks openly about how hard she’s worked on her mental health over the years, and how along that path has been reminded of the universal healing powers of nature, combined with sharing the ancient wisdom around Aboriginal culture throughout the broader community.

When it comes down to it, our overall wellbeing will always be enhanced by enriching human connection. And the need to listen to understand in order find empathy has never been greater than it is right now.

Enjoy our yarn.

The Wobbly Ladder

17m · Published 08 Dec 11:45

Let’s face it, we’ve all been blindsided by the events of 2020, left feeling uncertain, challenged and frustrated on all fronts. Going into the new year will continue to be a readjustment period, and attaining permanent stability will not be possible in 2021 on a global or national scale, everything will simply still be too much in flux.

In this episode, Garth and Suze want to provide you with some foundations for the future, sharing their philosophy of how to maintain balance and a calm state of mind, and remind you of the importance of setting yourself up to be compassionate and resilient amongst the continuing uncertainty.

So, the goal for 2021 is that we search for stability, accept the seas are still tempestuous, keep our ship upright, and refocus on navigating to our new normal.

Why courage eats resilience for breakfast

17m · Published 10 Feb 08:10

Who can argue that courage is a universally admired quality and something everybody wants? It is also a topic of discussion and a source of great interest, as it is something that appears to be in short supply at moment.

Philosophers have been debating it’s worth for centuries, while a range of research interests such as psychology, leadership, education and sociology came in later focusing more on fear than on courage.

In this episode we delve into the various characteristics of courage and help clarify the benefits that being courageous bring to our lives, especially when it comes to our health and wellbeing.

It’s not often you get to sit with a Balinese spiritual healer and talk about the simplicity and wholistic health effects of yoga. That’s just what I did recently when Ketut Arsana, also known as Sri Guru, paid a visit our home town.

Inhale: calm your body, exhale: smile and relax as this amazing practitioner shares his wisdom on something people of all ages can get so many health and wellbeing benefits from.

If the thought of waking up everyday passionate exhausts or overwhelms you, why not try being curious. It's much more achievable and, as Garth and Suze will explain, a lot of fun.
