As a welcome back episode for me and for this year, we will be talking about Emotions. Emotions. Emotions. Emotional Regulation to be specific. This is a reminder for us to manage and control our emotions especially when faced with stressful situations.

In this episode, we will discuss why i am so done with different gender roles that created gender stereotypes and also, how cultural norms play a big part of this dilemma. We will also introduce a psychologist named Sarah Bem who proposed Gender Schema Theory that suggests ghat children gradually form their gender identity as they learn about the network of themes and associations within their own culture. In addition, gender schema is closely linked to self concept. Children, therefore engage in gender appropriate behavior motivated by the desire to be good girls or good boys (Williams,2016). These kind of barriers add more identity confusion and caused a lot of people to hide from their closet.

In this episode, aside from multiple blind items and online shenanigans, we will discuss and try to understand cancel culture. It involves calling out the bad behavior of an individual/brand. This is often done in a performative way on social media that results to online bullying/shaming. We will also talk about the role of social identity theory of Henri Tajfel in cancel culture and how demanding for consistency contributes to this phenomena.
