89. Releasing Fear and Doubt in Pregnancy & Birth with Audrey Ross

57m · Published 08 Apr 06:00

Almost HALF of all women experience birth trauma.

Today, I chat with Audrey Ross of A Joyful Birth about why this might be. Why is it so hard to trust our bodies when it comes to birth? Why are we as a society so scared of birth? How do we break free from the fear and step back into our innate womanly power?

Audrey is a birthkeeper, educator of physiologic birth, and a mother. She went from a breech hospital birth with her first, to a homebirth with licensed midwives with her second baby, to a freebirth, and now she's currently journeying through a wild pregnancy (no medical intervention, no scans, etc.) and planning her second freebirth!

Together we dive into:

  • Why the hospital might NOT be the safest place to give birth (failure to progress, anyone?!)
  • Pros and cons of homebirth with midwives
  • How to protect yourself and your space in pregnancy and birth
  • Audrey's choice of wild pregnancy and freebirth
  • How to build trust in your body's ability to birth a healthy baby

86. What does it mean to be a Crunchy Mom?

39m · Published 01 Mar 18:18

“A crunchy mom is someone who doesn’t just accept the status quo. She willingly does her own research for pregnancy and birth, breastfeeding and baby wearing, vaccines and solid foods. She makes informed choices and pursues a more natural way of living. She cares deeply about giving her children the best life possible and also making sure she’s leaving the best world she possibly can for her grandchildren.

Crunchy moms support ALL moms, even if their opinions differ. They believe in encouraging EVERY mom and they understand that each mom has different needs and different beliefs.”

Press play and let’s dig into what it actually means to be a crunchy mom, plus a few tips and resources from my own experience walking this path.

It’s time to say goodbye to “Macros, Muscle, and Manifestation” and that means saying goodbye to the bodybuilding, chronic dieting, physique obsessed version of me, too.

I’ll share what led to the rebirth of this podcast into Naturally Caroline, sparked by a Poshmark sale, a medicine ceremony, and a DM I received asking for advice about competing in bodybuilding... and my response.

Welcome to this new chapter! I'm so honored you're here.

83. From Breakup to GLOW UP with Tricia Fishbune

1h 3m · Published 12 Dec 18:30

Tricia, through social media, gave everyone a front row seat to her devastating heartbreak earlier this year. But then we also got to see her healing journey that led to her manifesting new career opportunities, meaningful relationships, money, health, and more.

In today’s chat, we dig into exactly how she cultivated such a beautiful glow up, including somatic practices, emotional release, nervous system regulation, and other healing tools. I feel that Tricia's journey is such an important one to highlight because her healing path was so drastically different from what we see in culture, which usually emphasizes emotional eating, partying, rebound dating, revenge, etc. as the way to "move on."

Follow Tricia on Instagram and check out her offerings.

We started today’s chat catching up on how we are nourishing ourselves, avoiding seed oils, and why baking our own gluten free bread feels so dang good.

Then we take it from the kitchen into Lesha’s area of expertise - tongue and lip ties. You’ll hear her theories on why these are so common today and how you can avoid a painful revision for your little one, plus tips on how to build your own village of support as a new mom.
