When we think of balance in Yoga on the Mat, we think of self confidence, success, arm balances, inversions, standing poses (maybe a little nerves that we might fall?!).
But what does this look like off the mat? To me, it's balancing out life’s crazy. When we detach and refocus, we feel zen. Sometimes we feel guilty or doubt taking "me time" because life's pressures are SO demanding. We shouldn't feel this way, I know though that sometimes (ok much times), I struggle with taking time out for me to refocus and relax.

Community, such a beautiful word. All of our unique, diverse talents and skills make up our circle and space where we live, love, and laugh.
When you know who you are as a person, specifically your morals, and when you take time to self reflect, you are able to positively contribute to a better society. Tune into this podcast to discover 2 of the 8 limbs of yoga that can help you contribute to a happy, positive community. (I get a little hippie woo woo, FYI).
I LOVE my Vegas community and have been searching for a way to be more involved, for a way to bring people together. I'm excited to announce an opportunity to practice both yoga AND yoga off the mat through "OM in the Orchard", starting Mondays in May. We'll start by planting seeds of intention, followed by a gentle beginner yoga flow. After, we'll harvest veggies to take with use to enjoy. This is a FREE event, donations welcomed to benefit Garden Farms Foundation.

THIS is Living as a Yogi, a podcast provided by MintnHoney. I’m Emily Rae, your host, an eclectic soul, wanderlust spirit, and Vegas yoga instructor. I’ve often asked myself the question What does it mean to take our yoga practice off the mat and into the real world?
We spend so much time and energy focused on our yoga practice. Finding the trendiest yoga clothes. The most efficient water bottle. That perfect grippy yoga mat. But we are only on our mats for a short period of time, and then we have to go out and face the world. SO, I am excited to share with you what it means to me, to practice yoga off the mat.
