Mindset+Worthiness

11m · Published 29 Mar 10:00

On this episode of Curated Beauty we’re talking about mindset, worthiness, and why you can achieve anything and unlock your potential when you understand why these two aspects are so important. The perfect example is professional athletes. Consider how many of them have inspired others just by showing who they could become.

Take Priest Holmes, for example. He has had so many setbacks in his NFL career, even going undrafted. He was recruited based on his character, not only on what he accomplished. It all came down to his attitude and his motivation to be great. Eventually, he became the king of fantasy football. Compare that to when no one was interested in him at all.

If you’ve started a business and you’re taking off running, you might be able to relate to that feeling of being perceived as coming out of nowhere. Mindset and worthiness, these two concepts that are so intertwined, influence how we feel about ourselves. In turn, they also influence how we teach the world to view us.

When you have the right mindset, you acknowledge that life is happening for you as opposed to happening to you. When you recognize your worthiness, you believe in your worth of receiving love and joy. For many people, this is damaged when you are a child. When you feel unworthy, you hold back and settle for less.

It’s essential to cultivate a growth mindset and worthiness to achieve your growth potential and lead a fulfilling life. Embrace challenges and setbacks. Believe in your abilities and talents. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. Practice self-care and self-compassion. Focus on your strengths rather than your shortcomings. These are the keys to achieving your dreams.

Why IMPACT is My Favorite Core Value

16m · Published 22 Mar 10:00

In this episode, we’re talking about the core value of impact and why it’s so important. What impact does your environment have on you? How about the team and people around you. How are they impacting you? Increasing your impact as a leader and keeping values at the forefront of your mind is crucial.

It’s Jessica’s job to trickle the core values down to the team because they all impact each other. Not only that, but they also have an effect on their clients too. Having a strong, positive impact only helps to elevate the business as you set the example of how to move through this industry. Having a clear vision and direction inspires team members to work towards common goals.

If everyone is walking into work unhappy due to a toxic environment, you’re not fostering unity. Leaders have to make decisions, sometimes hard decisions, to navigate challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

A strong leader creates and maintains a strong brand image. This involves matching with the right clients, strategic partners, and talented team members. But one of the worst moves a leader can make is micromanaging. No one likes to be micromanaged, and it just hinders productivity. People want to be led, but not in a way that’s overbearing.

Poor communication from leadership can lead to misunderstanding, confusion, and wasted resources. But it’s never too late to put systems and processes in place to support your team members and your business. You can create unity by leveraging your impact and bringing your team together successfully.

Defluencing: Are Influencers Running Our Lives?

23m · Published 20 Mar 10:00

Have you heard of “defluencing”? On this episode of Curated Beauty we’re talking about this term, which is becoming a movement across social media platforms. Defluencing describes the undoing of social media influence, and it has been used to address the negative impacts of influencing on social media.

Recently, TV personality Kristin Cavallari came out and said she thinks Botox and lasers are a waste of time. Following this, she invited people to ask her questions about skincare. Interestingly enough, she has just come out with her own skincare line. She also said some things about Botox that aren’t actually true, according to the research.

She is sharing information she doesn’t have a firm grasp on. So, where is this coming from? It does seem like she has an agenda. Looking at cases of affiliate marketing exploitation, influencers need to be transparent and be held accountable for the information they share. There has been an increase in the purchasing of counterfeit products and attempts to inject them personally or with the assistance of a non-professional.

Yet, social media also plays an important role in creating supportive communities. It can be a valuable tool when you’re building a business. It’s a great way to share information about skin products that actually work, and which ones contain ingredients you want to avoid.

That said, it’s easy to get caught up on the amount of content available. The pressure to create tons of content and thoughtfully respond to every comment and message can be overwhelming. There are downsides to social media and the influencing that happens, for sure, but it can also bring a lot of positives too when you go about it ethically.

A Trip to Texas and the Latest Advancements in Dermal Fillers

11m · Published 11 Mar 22:03

On this episode of Curated Beauty, Jessica opens up about her recent trip to Texas, including who she met, what she learned, and the beverage she discovered and can’t wait to share with friends. She was invited on this trip by Allergan Medical Institute to train on the newest, FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler called Volux XC. This is intended to be used on the jawline to provide a contoured and defined look.

Using a firm product with high G prime that sticks together has some seriously magical properties. Injectors need to get training to see how it integrates and how it looks for themselves. During her visit, she had two hands-on training sessions back-to-back. There was a huge focus on education, science, and data.

For the third program of the day, they had a roundtable discussion at a steakhouse. They talked about business, educating patients, and relationship building. A short time later, at another place, Jessica learned about Ranch Water. Haven’t heard of it? It’s a cocktail including topo chico, a blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and tajin on the rim of the glass.

This cocktail was truly invented by ranchers who wanted a spirited drink to enjoy after they ended their hard work days. Eventually it caught on, and you can find it at plenty of establishments, each offering their own personal twist.

The whole visiting experience was incredibly warm and welcoming. Even though she was far away from home, she felt comfortable and can’t wait to go back. It also reinforced her appreciation for education in the industry. Making important information easier to access is what it’s all about, and a big reason why this podcast exists.

Unlocking the Power of Exosomes: New Discoveries in Regenerative Aesthetics

17m · Published 10 Mar 17:31

Today we’re talking about exosomes and their role in the future of regenerative aesthetics. There are many solutions available to help you turn back the hands of time for your skin, but there are downsides to some of these treatments. That’s what’s so great about exosomes—they provide a safe, non-invasive treatment as well as great results.

Exosomes are a cargo of mRNA, and they carry important messages from one cell to another. You can source exosomes from many different places on the body, a common location being adipose tissue. The growth factors cultivated through these exosomes can help stimulate healthy blood vessel formation.

Exosomes are small enough to get where they need to be transdermally, meaning it can get there through being applied topically through the skin. You can also create channels to allow for a deeper level of regeneration. The benefits of exosome treatments include increased collagen production, increased elastin production, and improved hydration.

If you are experiencing hair loss, exosomes can help with that too. Compared to other options, it is a more comfortable solution. Additionally, with its anti-inflammatory properties, it is more effective at shifting the cascade of inflammation so you can see results less invasively.

A treatment or product is only as good as the willingness it instills to get it done. You don’t need to have a lot of downtime to get the results you wish to achieve. Exosomes can stand alone or be coupled with other treatments to make the most out of them. They are effective, and there is exciting research being done on exploring their benefits and how they can be used.
