Owning your feelings and taking back control of your responses

We all have those time where we dump our crap on others crap right? 

You might be tired, overwhelmed, stressed or frustrated and instead of turning inwards to ask your self what you need, it ends up getting dumped on someone else. 

Taking a look in the mirror and observing ourselves can feel uncomfortable. We all have that shadow side of ourselves that we might not want to look at! So instead what we do is project our inner world out on to others without realising what is happening. 

This of course can leave is feeling powerless, angry and stressed as we go about our day reacting from a place of autopilot and conditioned patterns rather than conscious choice ad self awareness. 

In this episode I talk briefly about:

  • ️ Getting more self aware and taking ownership of your feelings and responses 
  • ️ Take a moment to check in and ask yourself what you really need 
  • ️ Take your power and increase happiness and wellbeing

What You Can Do if You Are Ready to Change But Don't Know How To

Are there things in your life that you want to change but you don't know where to start?  Are your fears and worries holding you back? Do you feel that you are not fulfilling your potential or that there is more for you? 

In this episode I tell you about how I felt when I left my teaching job and the fears I had around not being able to make enough money. I talk about how you can begin to consider:

  • What you heart truly yearns for 
  •  Taking things one step at a time and reminding yourself that it is the small steps that create the habits of success 
  •  How questioning your beliefs and ways of being can give you more self awareness and choice about how you live your life

The Unstuck Mindset

Do you remember when you were a child playing the game 'stuck in the mud'?

You would be running around desperately trying not to be the one who got 'tigged' (unless you were me who was happy to get the tig as I didn't want to run around ). When you got the 'tig' (for those of you who have no clue what I am talking about, the tig was someone smacking you on the back to make you stop), you then had to stand like a star and shout stuck in the mud. You would continue to shout stuck in the mud until someone ran past you and gave you another tig (aka smack in the back), to unstuck you! 

You played it right? 

So anyway you might be wondering why I am reliving my childhood memories when talking about todays podcast episode. 

Feeling stuck reminds me of the stuck in the mud game. There I was stood not being able to move until someone else came along and got me unstuck. The truth of the matter is I was FREE to unstuck myself at any time. It was by following the rules of the game that I remained stuck and I could have chosen to make up my own rules if I had wanted to and unstuck myself, rather than waiting for someone to do it for me. 

Which brings me to todays episode about the unstuck mindset.

We often feel stuck in life because of the rules and limitations that we put on ourself.

 We stay in jobs that we are unhappy with because we believe that we won't be able to do anything else 

 We tell ourselves that we are too old or it's too late to learn new things 

 We don't change our habits because we believe that we will fail 

 We don't go for our dream job or set up in business because we tell ourselves that we are not that kind of person 

 We limit our potential because we tell ourselves that we won't be able to do it 

 We stay waiting for life to happen and hope that something or someone will come along and fix us. 

In this episode I explore how you can take back control and get unstuck by;

  • focussing on what you want rather than want you don't want 
  • Getting into a good state and feeling good to explore possibilities and options when solving problems 
  • Reminding yourself about times when you have overcome challenges 
  • Orient yourself towards a brighter future

The Unstuck Mindset

New year, New perspectives

I know change can feel hard especially when you feel a lot of pressure bringing in the new year with a new you. Change your life, make 2022 your best year yet. Be more, do more, have more! It can feel a bit overwhelming to say the least and no wonder only 9% of people actually end up achieving the resolutions that they set at the beginning of the year. 

So how about considering shifting perspective to give you more choice in how you live your life in 2022. When you think differently you open up possibility and choice that you might not have perviously considered. Say for example you are holding a limiting belief about yourself. You're not good enough, you won't  be able to achieve your dreams or you can't do something. When you challenge your assumptions, beliefs and thinking, you can gift yourself with possibility thinking. You become free to explore other ways of thinking that could set in motion a new path of success in an area of your life. Sounds fantastic doesn't it? 

In this episode 

> I explore how pausing and checking in with your assumptions, beliefs and truths can increase your self awareness and give you the opportunity to reality check your thoughts

> Talk about how your reality is shaped by your interpretations and meaning that you put to events and how you can question the validity of these truths to expand your thinking and shift perspective. 

> I explore how you can choose what you focus on to create the life you want to live and who you want to become in 2022.
