Research suggests persons with positive self-talk may find it easier to solve problems, think differently and be more efficient at coping with life's triggers.  People who engage in positive self-talk experience lower rates of depression,  greater life satisfaction,  lower levels of distress, improved immune function, better psychological and physical well-being, and increased life span.

Self Care Versus Self Work

Self Care is absolutely necessary.  Self care  is important as it's healthy for the mind, body and soul.  Self care is having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness.  Self care is the things you do for your self. While Self Work  is an attitude towards oneself.  Self work is proactive and less reactive. They are  both related to one another as they go hand in hand. 

Self work requires

  •  Reflection, 
  • Action planning, 
  • Do 

 
Self care activities 

  • Read a book or magazine 
  • Sit in the Sun
  • Take a bubble bath - complete with candles and calming music
  • Take a leisurely walk without a goal
  • Engage in reflective practices like meditation
  • Go to church/mosque/temple
  • Do yoga 
  • Reflect with a close friend for 

    Take care of yourself,  love yourself,  be kind and be gentle with yourself.

The Cameroonian government has been fighting to stay in power and the Ambazonian fighters  have been seeking independence. But as years goes by, many Cameroonians and Ambazonians are now wondering when will the war end and are asking for a peaceful retreat from both parties. The citizens of Cameroon are ready to move on with their lives.  Amandine shared how many of her friends and family members have been traumatized by the war.
