Why unlearning can be more important than learning.

17m · Published 11 Apr 02:04

Struggling with anxiety, addictions, or grief? Look beyond these superficial symptoms and deal with the underlying causes of your challenges, including trauma and toxic beliefs. After all, you weren't born with any of those issues, so you learned them at some point. The key to successfully overcoming unwanted emotional and behavioral challenges is to UNLEARN the thought patterns and unhealthy conditioning that have supported them. Once you change your mind, you can keep the change.

It’s not what you’re eating, it’s what’s eating you.

Successful and lasting weight loss requires resolving your emotional baggage and understanding the connection to stress and trauma. If knowing how to eat healthy were enough, then 200 million Americans wouldn't be overweight. Clearly, cracking the weight loss code requires more than willpower and nutritional information. Fixing our emotional issues, including trauma and ongoing stress (both caused by toxic beliefs), is the key to unlocking and releasing excess body weight.

What if your bad habit is actually good for you?

14m · Published 11 Apr 02:04

Feeling guilty about your bad habit? Judging your unwanted behavior as stupid or self-destructive? Think again. All subconsciously-driven behaviors start with a positive intention, usually to help you alleviate discomfort or experience pleasure. It's only when we look at our unwanted behaviors exclusively from a long-term, logical perspective that they are labeled as "bad." From the short-term, emotional subconscious perspective, these behaviors are very helpful, or they wouldn't persist. Once you understand the dynamics of inner internal conflict, it becomes possible to create internal harmony and change your behaviors without struggle.

Coronavirus didn’t cause your stress and bad habits. You were already infected with them.

19m · Published 11 Apr 01:53

The COVID-19 pandemic is worsening pre-existing stress-related problems, including insomnia and unhealthy distractions like compulsive habits, poor diet, and alcohol consumption, all of which weaken the immune system. The emotional need to distract oneself from stress is much greater now than it’s been for a long time. Self-isolation and lack of outside-of-the-home entertainment options (sporting events, casinos, bars, nightclubs, concerts) have brought out emotionally compulsive tendencies. So many people are drinking, smoking, and eating more, sleeping less, and otherwise handling their stress poorly. In most cases, these problems were NOT created by the response to the coronavirus pandemic, but they were brought to the surface by it. NOW is an important time to focus on resolving your underlying problems, since they’re becoming very hard to ignore.
