#6: Bonus Episode! My Background + Nutrition Best Practices

18m · Published 07 May 04:00

On May 6, 2018 I was asked to present a nutrition seminar for members of the community, hosted by a local lululemon location. For those who couldn’t be there, I wanted to share my speech from that event with you by putting together this special episode.

I open with a bit on my background and poor eating habits growing up, and the struggles I faced working through an eating disorder and body image issues. I talk about the chronic illness I was diagnosed with at the age of 14-years-old that brought my athletic aspirations to a halt, and how my first job at a gym encouraged me to do a figure show in hopes of fixing my low self-esteem. These experiences ultimately led to my mission to better understand how to fuel the human body for sustainable health and longevity.

Then, I address common misconceptions, and discuss my nutrition best practices; or the five things you should know whether you’re just trying to eat well or are contemplating starting a diet.

As an exclusive offer for this episode, listeners receive 15% off nutrition coaching programs through Hey Preslie Nutrition (use discount code: lululemon). You’ll receive one-on-one coaching packed with accountability, information and strategies to help you achieve your goals and sustain your results long-term. #5: Thinking Massive with Kurt and Adam

1h 2m · Published 30 Apr 04:00

Founders of Monolith, a lifestyle and apparel brand, Kurt Nortman (IG: @kurtnortman) and Adam Truszkowski (IG: @adam_thinks_massive) are building much more than a business. Their shared passion for encouraging like-minded individuals to form connections, and a vision of a more informed consumer in the health and fitness space, drives these best friends forward every day in their mission to create a movement.

In this interview, we start with how both Kurt and Adam left their full-time jobs in unrelated careers to pursue a bigger purpose, which ultimately becomes the company Monolith. They explain what Think Massive means, what it doesn’t mean (despite popular belief), and how those who truly resonate with the ideology have come out in extraordinary ways to express how the brand has changed their life. We also discuss how to make noise in a saturated market, especially when competing with those who offer quick fixes and false claims.

It’s a fun conversation full of insight and inspiration. Enjoy!
