Episode 75: W(h)olistic Women's Health with Dr Monique Brotman, OB/GYN

40m · Published 17 Jun 03:36

I can't wait for you to hear my conversation with Dr Monique Brotman! She's a board certified OB/GYN who goes above and beyond to treat her patients w(h)olistically. I wish I had known her when several of my friends were going through pre/post menopausal issues and needed  support. Now, I'm so grateful to be able to share her expertise with all of you.

Dr Brotman wears many hats. She guides and supports her patients on women's health issues, delivers babies, performs robotic surgeries, serves as the backup for a group of local midwives and does religious circumcisions for her Jewish community.

Check out these links to learn more about each of her areas of expertise:

  • Website: Dr Monique Brotman
  • Article on Robotics: West Sub docs love their robots
  • Midwifery Practice: West Suburban Midwives.
  • Jewish Ceremonial Circumcision: Dr Brotman, Mohelet

Now a short message about two of my passion projects:

  1. If you are in the market for a whole food supplement, please take a moment to learn about Juice Plus+. It's real fruits and veggies in a capsule or a gummy!
  2. If you are picky about your skincare, you have to try Radical Skincare. I was very happy with my former brand and then I did a podcast with the Liz Edlich, the CEO of Radical. I was taken by the story behind the brand and decided to try just one product - the detox mask. I was amazed by the ease of it and the results! I have completely switched over my skincare regime and am having a blast sharing with friends. The products follow EU standards and are plant-based, just as they should be. You can get 10% off every time you shop, by using my discount code: tamara.ortegel10.

If you have any questions or would like to connect with me, please email me at [email protected].

Thanks so much!

Episode 73: Facing Adversity During the Pandemic with Wynne Lacey

1h 0m · Published 07 Mar 21:55

Wynne Lacey is a Mental Health Practitioner and Life Coach in the Chicago area. Like many of her peers, she enjoys utilizing traditional and holistic approaches to improving the mental and emotional health of her clients.

Several years ago, she was invited to serve her local community as a member of the Board of Health. She never imagined that her beliefs about health and wellbeing would conflict so severely with her peers and that her seat on the board would be called into question.

In this fascinating conversation, we talk about what it’s been like for her to remain steadfast in the face of adversity. I admire her determination and hope she is able to influence the board to embrace opposing points of view.

If you would like to connect with Wynne, please reach to her here

Episode 68: Art Therapy with Ron Formento, Jr.

40m · Published 02 Nov 18:45

It's pretty amazing to see that as we age, we often come back to things we enjoyed doing as children. It's as if the artist, chef, magician, singer (fill in the blank) within us reemerges to heal and free us.

In this episode, Ron and I talked about why he started painting again and the impact it's having on his health and wellbeing. You will be amazed to hear how he is connecting with friends and strangers to bring about more connection, compassion and joy. If you've been thinking about reigniting a former hobby, now is a great time to get started.

Ron also changed careers in midlife.  It took courage and faith to step away from something he'd dedicated himself to and into a new opportunity. He's thriving in his new role and couldn't be happier.

If you'd like to connect with Ron, visit his website. Check out his blogs and take a look at the beautiful paintings he's done so far.
