They discuss types of uncertainty, why people have different tolerances to uncertainty and ambiguity, and the desire to control and fix. They cover how adults and kids can avoid going down the spiral of anxiety and sustain their wellbeing during transition and change. They also discuss how anthropological research is valid and useful, even though it is different than most other scientific research.

Tess Bird has a doctorate in anthropology from the University of Oxford where she conducted anthropological research with households facing major life transitions in the Northeastern United States. She later conducted a study on uncertainty and wellbeing with over 80 households in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
