Ingrid Yang, MD, JD, E-RYT-500*, C-IAYT** is a board-certified physician hospitalist in San Diego, CA who has been teaching yoga for over 21 years. She is also the author of two books: Hatha Yoga Asanas and Adaptive Yoga. She is an incredibly creative and inspiring yoga teacher, who has made it her purpose to incorporate medicine into yoga, and yoga into medicine. Dr. Yang leads classes, trainings, and workshops all over the United States, Australia, Europe and Asia. She is a certified yoga therapist under the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and a Reiki master of the Usui tradition. In her past lives, Ingrid was an intellectual property attorney, founder and owner of Blue Point Yoga Center, and a jazz singer in Australia. When she is not doctor-ing or yoga-ing, Ingrid loves to surf at sunset, travel the world, and play on the beach with her dogs Rusty and Juno. In this week's episode I recap the first season of the podcast. What a year this has been for us all. Dr. Melissa Mondala is a Southern California native and a board-certified Family Medicine physician. She obtained her medical degree from Chicago Medical School and completed her Family Medicine residency, in addition to a fellowship in Lifestyle Medicine, both from Loma Linda University Health. Last year, she served as Preventive Medicine Junior Faculty at Loma Linda University Health, where she worked in a Lifestyle Medicine specialty clinic and inpatient lifestyle medicine service in an acute rehabilitation setting. She served as President (2018-2019) and Secretary (2017-2018) for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Professionals in Training (PiT) Division, now known as the ACLM-Trainees division. She carried out PiT’s mission to expand PiT nationally and globally through Lifestyle Medicine Interest Groups (LMIGs), social media campaigns, and personally inspiring a neighboring medical school, Western University, to create a LMIG. She has accelerated the lifestyle medicine movement within academic institutions, social media, community fairs, and podcasts. Dr. Mondala is committed to the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s collective efforts to elevate Lifestyle Medicine in the medical, political, and social communities.
Currently, she is in private practice in Newport Beach and is an ACLM Board Member. She is a uniquely engaging motivational speaker that brings evidence based methods to combat chronic disease and uplifts potential barriers through self-empowerment and self-compassion.

Dr. Nancy Yen Shipley is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, with additional fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopy. Her professional interests include sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, injuries and conditions of the shoulder and knee, fracture care and general orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Yen Shipley received her B.A. degree in Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles. She spent time after her undergraduate training working in the snowboarding industry and event planning, before finding her true passion, medicine. She attended Drexel University College of Medicine, in Philadelphia, where she discovered her love for Orthopaedics. Dr. Yen Shipley completed internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, then completed additional fellowship training in arthroscopy and sports medicine at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. Dr. Yen Shipley is a partner at Multnomah Orthopedic Clinic. In addition to her her clinical practice, Dr. Yen Shipley enjoys caring for athletes of all levels, as a team physician for U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team, Multnomah University and Portland Interscholastic League. She has also been involved as a part of the medical team for track and field’s IAAF World Indoor Championships, the University of Richmond and the Virginia Special Olympics. Dr. Yen Shipley is passionate about sharing her path to medicine with others, in particular our next generation of future physicians. She is a mentor and champion for women and diversity in surgical specialties, and brings awareness to this through speaking engagements and an active online presence. She has been a featured contributor on KevinMD.com, called “a must-read blog” by Rebecca Ruiz of Forbes, among multiple other online sources of medical news. Lynn Stiff, MD, RD, MS is a dietitian-turned-physician passionate about empowering individuals to make realistic and sustainable diet and lifestyle choices that can prevent, treat and reverse chronic disease. She is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and is faculty at a local Family Medicine residency program. Dr. Khalsa has had a life-long interest in mindful living as the basis for long term vitality. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at The Mayo Clinic in 2005 and is board certified in Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Hospice Medicine. Dr. Khalsa has deepened her studies on health and healing by becoming a Kundalini Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, and participating in a 2-year full-time program on Ayurveda at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque and India. Through these other educational pathways, she has spent many years observing herself and patients in a different light from what was offered in her initial medical training. Serving as both an Integrative Medicine PCP and consultant to other medical practices, she has dedicated time and energy to promoting an increased understanding of the link between long term health and the daily choices we make.
