#50: “All That Glitters is Not Gold with Leanne Townsend" Today we chat with Leanne Townsend.  Leanne is a Family Lawyer & Divorce Coach. Leanne provides legal and coaching support for all stages of the divorce process (pre-divorce, management and recovery post-divorce).   She is regularly interviewed in the media and has been featured in Lawyer’s Daily, Divorce Magazine, Daring Woman Magazine, and she has been a guest expert on a number of radio stations and podcasts on topics including abusive relationships, divorcing a narcissist and divorce recovery.  Leanne openly shares her journey with us, how she hit bottom, then learned to remove the masks of perfection and ask for help to create the shift she required for her life.  In addition, she has spoken at a variety of events focused on women empowerment, and she regularly writes her own blog on topics about dating, relationships and family law. Leanne has degrees in political science, education and law. Her biggest pride and joy is her two teenage children who she lives with in Toronto, Canada. In addition to her business, Leanne is passionate about fitness, travel and lifelong education. In this episode we talk about: 1. The mask of perfectionism and how it is impossible to maintain.  2. The more masks we wear in our lives, the less relatable we are to others and the less likely we are to ask for help when we hit bottom.  3. Knowing when our problems are bigger than us and that we rarely have the solutions on our own.   4. Being grateful for our challenges as they shape us into who we are meant to become.   5. The tremendous power in owning our stories without any shame because that is the turning point where all change begins.  6. The freedom of vulnerability and showing up as our true selves.  That is how we impact and light the way for others.  7. Creating massive change in our lives is possible! #49: "The Light at the End of the Tunnel Isn't for You"

In this Monday Mindset episode we talk about finding our way to the light at the end of the tunnel.  Sometimes we find ourselves at the light and we forget how we got there…how many decisions, actions, tools, strategies we used to get there.  In that space, others can reach out to connect to ask “how did we get there?” When we get to this space of working through our challenges, we may feel called to share our journey, and to take it one step further we may be called to pay it forward by building a platform of a business (speaking, coaching or writing) to increase our reach and support even more people!

The light at the end of the tunnel isn’t there to shine on us.  It is there to shine through us to light the way for others to in turn find their way to the others side.  If we are being called to do this, it is up to us to embrace this responsibility as it is truly “our purpose”.  Our mess truly has become our message!

In this episode we talk about:

1. Our stories happen to us for a reason, giving a purpose to our stories can be very healing for our journey.

2. Recognizing what helped us to get to this point in our journey and honouring ALL the steps, no matter how small they may seem.

3. Embracing our calling to build our platform to impact others and to do so unapologetically!

4. The incredible opportunity to share our stories in the upcoming collaborative book and mastermind launching the first week of June.

5. The power of each of us stepping into our purpose, shining that light through us instead of on us, and how that can in turn help so many other people!

6. Understanding that some of us have been dealt unbelievable life challenges and that is calling us to a big level in life to do something with our stories.

#48: “The Path From Insecurity to Confidence -- Finding Our True Potential with Christine Althouse"

Today we chat with Christine Althouse.  Christine is a Lifestyle Coach, a mother, wife and entrepreneur.  Christine is passionate about helping women gain the confidence to speak out and share their beliefs with the world. Her goal is to help women make incredible things happen in their lives. Her live Facebook show every Monday, “Mom Talk”, inspires women to change their lives through the insights of other moms who have launched a home business during the demanding child-rearing years. Christine believes that every woman has a message to share and a passion to follow that can flower with proper support and encouragement. She wants to help women begin to dream again, to find their passion, to go beyond the limits they have set on themselves and to achieve their goals in an environment that celebrates and supports each other.

In this episode we talk about:

1. The power of our stories and how sharing them can help support others.

2. We decide the power of our stories by how much we feed them or free ourselves from them.

3. Freedom comes from confronting the difficult things in life, avoiding them never leads to positive changes.

4. Forgiveness is necessary for us to move forward and it is a critical step in creating positive change.

5. The healing process can be a lifelong journey, and with the right tools we can work through the challenges we continue to face.

6. Self-compassion and grace are a necessary gift to give to ourselves.

7. We can change the story once we are able to acknowledge and confront it.

#47: “Stop Apologizing for Your Message”

In this Monday Mindset episode we talk about the power of owning our stories and why we should stop apologizing for our sharing our message.  Our stories happen to us for a reason, and wanting to do something with our stories, building a business to serve, impact and support others is not something to be ashamed of.  It is something to be proud of.  We are passing the lessons onto others and shortening their learning curve.

In this episode we talk about:

1. Our stories happen to us for a reason, giving a purpose to our stories can be very healing for our journey.

2. Not everyone will understand our journey and that is ok; they have their own journey to live with and be on.

3. I applaud and encourage people to talk about the stories that no one else wants to talk about; yet, these are exactly the stories that people spend endless hours on google searching for the answers.

4. The louder we speak, the more we use our voice to share our stories, the bigger the dent/impact we make on the power shame has over our lives.

5. Sometimes life truly takes balls of steel, the heart of a lion and the soul of an angel.  Be proud if you have these ingredients!

6. Step up to make a massive impact and do it unapologetically.  The lessons, experiences, the wins and falls all make up your platform of impact. Don’t feel guilty for building a business to support others and charge for your services.  You went to school for a LONG time to gain this experience!

7. If you feel called to build your business from your story, embrace the calling, step up to do the work and build the business and impact you know you are here to do!

#45: “Is it Time to Raise Your Standards?”

#45: “Is it Time to Raise Your Standards?”

In this Monday Mindset episode we talk about creating change in our life by raising our standards and deciding that we want more for our lives.  We must be the catalyst for change, it all starts with the internal work.  Our life doesn’t change on its own, it changes by deciding to commit to doing the work to create change.

Today I share the importance of being that catalyst and raising our standards, expecting more for our lives.

In this episode we talk about:

1. We teach people how to treat us, and we decide to let the gossip or criticism dictate how we live our life.  It is our choice how we let this impact us.

2. We decide the standards for what we want to create, how we want to live and how we want that life to play out.  We can’t choose what happens to us, we can choose how we responds what happens to us.

3. Everything can change when we own our story, honour our values, and create boundaries to support our life.

4. If we make ourselves a priority in our lives, and increase our self-care practice, we can change how we respond to what happens in our lives.

5. Respecting our energy and choosing to surround ourselves with people who help us grow, raise our energy and believe in what we are capable of.

6. We can be the catalyst and we can change our story at any time we choose to.
