Your birth into this world was a trauma.

And every moment after that where you felt too overwhelmed to process, can be pinpointed as a trauma. 

It doesn't have to be these big, one off events. Trauma encompasses much more than that.

Today's guest, my lovely friend, Kirby Criddle, has been treating clients for 15 years in an energy work and plant medicine capacity. Specializing in trauma integration and sexual, emotional and spiritual aspects of health. 93. Wild Remedies For Healing With Krysta Francoeur

At a certain point in my life, after dealing with sickness after sickness, I started to question the medical system's ability to help me heal and instead turned to Nature and listening to my body's needs instead.

It changed everything.

Today's beautiful guest, Krysta Francoeur, the founder and CEO of Wild Remedies, had a very similar experience. It was through spending years of her life sick and eventually having her tonsils removed at age 23 that she came into the discovery of the healing properties of plant medicine.

She spent some time living abroad in Europe, Mexico, the US as well as in Malaysia working for Mindvalley as a Senior Designer. She began to dive into the power of nature as Healer and the science of spirituality. It was during that time that she discovered the incredibly healing mushroom, Chaga, which led her to creating her first tea product and eventually, her incredible collection of Magick Lattes with Wild Remedies.

90. Intentional Living, Loving + Thrifting with The Peach Vintage

Every November, a slew of Black Friday and Cyber Monday emails and advertisements take over my inbox and social media feeds.

And over the last couple of years, as I've become a more intentional, aware person, I've noticed the immediate instinct to "go buy now!" that comes up when I see these ads.

It's not that the ads are bad by any means, most of them are really great opportunities to save money on products I already use and love. I just notice the desire to 'buy more, quickly!' during this season, even if it's not something I necessarily need or want to spend money on at that time...

So when I connected with Abbey Trujillo from The Peach Vintage, I knew we needed to have a timely conversation about living, loving and second-hand shopping. And I knew it needed to be published this week, during all of the "buy now" craziness.

Abbey is THE sweetest human and I'm grateful for our new friendship. We connected over a mutual love for thrifting and living intentionally and the conversation that follows is a byproduct of that!

Brandon and I were chatting about the new "Meta" name Facebook recently revealed and it led to a full blown conversation about the difference between creating and consuming.

The person who gets to bake cakes all day has a completely different experience than the person who eats cakes all day long.

One allows you to express yourself.

The other can make you sick.

Consuming as much screen time as we do is literally making us sick.

The joy is found in the creating, not in the consuming.

The process is where we truly feel alive, not the outcome.

87. Burnt Out + Lit Up

I ride roller-coasters all the time without visiting amusement parks...

Yeah, I'm talking about my emotions.

In any given day, I can go from HAPPY JOY JOY to WTF WORLD to *heavy crying*.

And the last few months, it's felt a little more challenging to get to my usual "Marie Joy" if I'm being totally honest.

But I think that's the most important thing, that we be honest and also normalize being a human.

As a human, we get the opportunity to experience a wide variety of emotions. The full spectrum if you will.

And I think that's a beautiful thing! Even if some of the emotions and experiences on that scale are downright painful and uncomfortable as hell.

So I rode the roller-coaster today and as I was about to have a nap in an attempt to feel better, a little voice said, "it's burn out. You're experiencing burn out."

And I felt so at peace even in the admitting of that.

Today's episode is an honest conversation about burnout, what to do about it and my favourite "light up" list practice!
