320: Why Amino Acids are critical for Muscle, Aging Well, Hormones, Hair & Skin Health - Angelo Keely

41m · Published 13 Nov 22:31

Angelo Kelly is explaining the critical role of protein and essential amino acids for strength, energy, and just about every function in your body.

Amino acids form the proteins that make up our muscles, organs, hormones, hair, skin, nails. They act as the catalyst for nearly every chemical process in your body. They support processes like protein synthesis, muscle gain, brain function, hormone regulation, metabolism, and more. The 9 essential amino acids are the amino acids that your body can’t make on its own—and they must be consumed through diet or supplementation.

Angelo is the co-founder and CEO ofKion - creator of my amino acid supplement of choice. Angelo is answering all of our questions, including...

  • What areamino acids? What do they do in the body?
  • How do amino acids (AA) impact people at different ages differently?
  • Why is eating enough protein (and AAs) so important for women?
  • What are the specific benefits to taking amino acids over the age of 40?
  • In what ways can amino acids help women in perimenopause or menopause?
  • How do amino acids help improve energy?
  • What about BCAAs?
  • What about collagen and creatine?
  • Should we take amino acids if we aren't working out that day?
  • Are amino acids just for athletes?

313: Intentional Life vs. Life of Comparison

16m · Published 20 Sep 15:31

I think it’s really important what we tell ourselves in the pursuit of our best life and living out the best versions of ourselves, and I think we can actually shut down our momentum / our progress when we set ourselves up with the wrong framework or the wrong expectations.

I don't believe we can “be anything we want to be,” and the blind pursuit has left many people feeling unfulfilled or “less than.”

At the very least, comparison of your lot in life, of your day-to-day existence, of your body or your home, your job or your business, of your vacations, of your accomplishments - that comparison will kill your joy - but worse -that comparison and the “falling short” of it all will oftentimes kill the version of you that IS possible.

Can we bewhateverwe want to be? Whatever we wish to be? No, I don’t think so. But, there's better news.
