Putting Parkinson's and Rheumatoid Arthritis into Remission with Mimi Morgan! 607

Mimi Morgan grew up in New Jersey, and despite developing asthma at the age of two, she spent lots of time outdoors, taking care of, and riding horses. Even though she had asthma from a young age, Mimi was always adventuresome. She had loved hiking, kayaking, dog sledding, and loved the outdoors in general.

Unfortunately, her low fat, low protein way of eating ultimately brought about some serious health issues. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and Parkinson’s disease. Shortly thereafter, she was diagnosed with spinal osteomyelitis, and her health was steadily declining.

It was not until she finally reduced her carbs and increased her protein and fat that she began to see some pretty amazing results. Over time she was even able to reduce her medications from thirteen to zero!

She has now shared her story on several major podcasts, including the Dr. Shawn Baker Podcast, Fitness Confidential with Vinnie Tortorich, Off Of The Couch with Maggie Stewart, and Carnivorist Chats with James Lemon, all of which are former guests on our show.

John LaSpina is a 58-year-old retired middle school teacher of 34 years. John taught Language Arts, Social Studies, Civics, and Video Production.

John is a perpetual student, & most of his nutrition education comes from experts in the field of low carbohydrate nutrition, including Dr. Robert Cywes, Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. Sten Ekberg, Thomas Delauer, Elliot Overton and Kim Howerton. He became fat-adapted about 5 years ago when he started eating ketogenic. Currently, he identifies as a carnivore and claims to have never felt more alive, or more healthy.

His YouTube videos serve the purpose of informing and educating viewers about the proper way of eating real, whole foods and the potential benefits that can be experienced through this approach. John encourages viewers to leave comments and questions, assuring them that he will respond to everyone. John creates these Youtube videos for free, offering them to anyone who wants to learn, as he believes knowledge is power.

His ultimate goal is to help individuals become the optimized versions of themselves by learning to eat well in order to feel and look well.

Lindsey Byrne is a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach and a Certified Re:CODE 2.0 Health Coach.

After witnessing her mother's memory decline over the course of a few years, Lindsey had initially felt hopeless and believed that there was no solution. However, her perspective changed when they coincidentally met someone who had successfully reversed her own severe early onset Alzheimer's symptoms.

This encounter sparked her interest, leading Lindsey to dedicate nearly 3000 hours to researching and studying the subject. As a result, she has accumulated a wealth of evidence-based resources that she is eager to share with others. Her area of expertise lies in health coaching, where she assists individuals in making lifestyle changes more efficiently, easily, and sustainably compared to attempting it alone.

She strongly believes in spreading the message that an Alzheimer's diagnosis does not signify the end, as there are ways to improve the situation. She has personally experienced these changes and is familiar with effective strategies.
