Episode #22: William Beckman

We have had many great guests and some close friends on the podcast but one of the best parts of this podcast is getting to interview people that I have gotten to watch online. I am meeting them for the first time and getting to learn more about their stories. That is the case for this next artist. Hailing from the small border town of Del Rio, TX, this guest is a blend of classic country and the Norteno sounds of northern Mexico. He moved to Nashivlle not too long ago and signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappel. He has already put out two albums, “Faded Memories” and “Here's To You, Here’s To Me” where two singles, “Damn This Heart Of Mine” and “Tennessee Drinkin” were consecutive #1 songs at Texas Regional radio Charts. He has amassed more than 670,000 followers on TikTok, 16 million streams, performed at the Grand Ole Opry, signed a record deal with Warner Music, and spend the last year touring with Parker McCollum, Randy Rogers Band and Wade Bowen. I am super excited for this conversation please welcome - William Beckmann.

Big things come in small boxes. Big things also come in six foot seven country singers. This next guest quite possibly could be the tallest artist in country music, maybe in all of music. While I am quite excited, I am also quite intimidated to have this interview. After playing basketball at Drury University, this guest got accepted into Harvard University extension Pre-med program. He elected not to go and took the bold bet of becoming an artist in Nashville, TN, and that bet has paid off big time. After two number one songs on the radio, “Prayed For You” and “Everywhere But On,” appearing on Good Morning America, The Kelly Clarkson Show, The late Night Show, and Family Feud, and many tours, this artist is gearing up for a new project. I’m very excited to welcome to the studio…. Matt Stell.

This next guest has gotten used to the spotlight. After placing as the Runner Up in ‘Claim To Fame,” America’s reality show hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, he embarked on his journey in Nashville as a country artist. After gaining traction on socials and putting out original music of his own, he joined Meg Moroney on her “Pistol Made Of Roses” tour and the “Lucky” tour this past year - and they are set to do it again on The Lucky 2.0 tour. He is an avid drinker of diet coke, a lover of Chili's, and is bound to make you laugh. Do us two things: "tell your mama I love her" and please welcome, Logan Crosby.

At just 23 years old he is proven to be a veteran of the Nashville songwriting community as well as the most hotly-anticipated artists. I took a listen down to his debut album, “Smoky Mountains” that releases this Friday, 1/26/24 and wow is it good. Featuring hits, “Take It Slow,” “I Hate Alabama,” and “Creek Will Rise (which is on country radio right now)” this 12 song project is rock solid and is guaranteed to put him on the map. He earned the 2022 Artist to Watch status from Spotify, Amazon Music and Opry NextStage, while also making him the only Country artist on Pandora’s Ten List 2022. He secured 2023 recognition from MusicRow Next Big Thing and CMT Listen Up as well as joining the CRS New Faces Class of 2024. He is currently headlining his latest headline trek on the CREEK WILL RISE TOUR, wrapping on February 24 in Bloomington IN. Outside of his music, he is celebrating his recent engagement. I have a feeling some of the songs on this album were written about her. Pumped to have this discussion. Please welcome… Conner Smith.

Nobody thinks of New York as being a place of country music lovers or country music stars, but this next guest may prove us wrong. After teaching himself to play instruments growing up, he drove himself to be better at singing and songwriting. A crazy trip to LA led him to meeting Ryan Tedder and ultimately signing a deal with Runner Music and Sony Music Nashville. Outside of his music career he is a intense pickelball player that will give you a run for your money. We talk about it all here with... David J.
