Friends and Kin this episode is final episode of the TWO part show that I did with one of my best friends. Crystal & I have been friends since we were Freshman at Morgan State University! That’s 25 years of friendship. Our friendship is a healthy balance of Libra/Scorpio + Capricorn energy that is a ball of fun.
This conversation is all about our big trip to Paris to see King Beyoncé that had a lot of funny and INTERESTING moments! From the strange ladies on the plane talking so loud you would have thought they were on the playground to me knocking a basket of rolls on the floor - intentionally. 🤓🤣
We talk about the experience seeing Beyoncé live and both of us HIGHLY recommend that EVERYBODY that is FINANCIALLY ABLE go to experience, what I believe will be her LAST live performance! It was such an amazing time & although Crystal and I don’t see eye to eye on love for Paris, we had one of the best times ever on vacation - and we travel together several times a year! 🛫🛳️
This vacation was absolutely amazing & I can’t wait to get back to France. I want to visit some other cities, outside of Paris next.

This is a month that was created by former president Jimmy Carter to celebrate Black people’s contributions to music! I touch on how our ancestors used music and the gift of song to make their way to freedom. I dive into the beautifully tragic reality that makes up how enslaved Africans made it to the Western world and how even though our ancestors endured this - they still had a song in their spirit. We in turn continue to sing their song, to express through music the songs written onto our DNA.

Friends & Kin, what a WHIRLWIND life has been for the past two months. I gained an ancestor & almost lost my mind. I am still in the throws of grief and trying to adjust to this new way of living a somewhat normal life, yet I feel lost in the sauce. And I mean completely LOST IN LE SAUCE! Keep me in your prayers, please.
This episode of Hand Me My Purse is, at its core, about LOVE. The love we have for ourselves. It's about relationships and the true work that must be done to prepare us for entering a space where we are truly ready to be open to a healthy partnership/relationship with someone else - romantically. I talk about the benefit of choosing to be single, as we get ready - IF WE EVEN WANT TO BE READY. SINGLE? COUPLED? The choice is OURS TO MAKE.
