TURN THE PAGE Host Kayla Greenwell interviews the literati and oddball creative-types with a focus on DIY and grassroots initiatives. This week, Kayla will interview Erin Parker and Michael Grover.
Erin Parker won her first Creative Writing contest when she was 11, and has been writing every since. Her work has been published by Uno Kudo, Red Fez, Drunk Monkeys, Cadence Collective, Lost in Thought, Timid Pirate Publishing, The Altar Collective, Santa Fe Lit Review, Silver Birch Press and Lucid Moose Lit's anthology Like a Girl: Perspectives on Female Identity. Erin was a finalist in the 2012 NGR Literary Honors contest and was nominated for Best of the Net 2014. She is an editor for Uno Kudo and JMWW. The Secret and the Sacred is her first book.
Michael Grover is a native Floridian. He is currently a resident of Toledo, Ohio where he spends a great deal of time working on his own poetry and giving back to the literary community in service as publisher, editor and events organizer. Michael is widely published in the small press. He is the current head poetry editor at Red Fez Publications and the founding editor/publisher of Covert Press. Michael has published several chapbooks, and in 2014, his first novel 'Lockewood/The Wolves Of Lockewood'. Michael's latest project is The Cancer Diaries  http://thecancer-diaries.blogspot.com/

Robert Vaughan’s writing has appeared in over 500 print and online journals. He leads writing roundtables at Red Oak Writing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Also, he teaches workshops, like the October 18-25 Poetry & Fiction: Writing from the Well of Diverse Genres at The Clearing in Door County, Wisconsin.
He is in his 5th year as senior flash fiction editor at JMWW, as well as poetry and fiction editor at Lost in Thought magazine. He also is guest editor of Uno Kudo magazine, issue 5.
Kathy Fish has joined the faculty of the Mile-High MFA at Regis University in Denver. She will be teaching flash fiction. Additionally, she teaches two-week intensive Fast Flash© Workshops. She also serves as Consulting Editor for the Queen’s Ferry Press series, THE BEST SMALL FICTIONS. Her fourth collection of short fiction, RIFT, co-authored with Robert Vaughan, is set to release in December, 2015 from Unknown Press.
Her stories have been published or are forthcoming in The Lineup: 20 Provocative Women Writers, Black Lawrence Press, 2015, Richard Thomas (ed.), Choose Wisely: 35 Women Up to No Good,Upper Rubber Boot Books, 2015, H.L. Nelson and Joanne Merriam, (eds.), and various other journals and anthologies. She was the guest editor of Dzanc Books’ Best of the Web 2010. She is the author of three collections of short fiction: a chapbook of flash fiction in the chapbook collective, “A Peculiar Feeling of Restlessness: Four Chapbooks of Short Short Fiction by Four Women” (Rose Metal Press, 2008), “Wild Life” (Matter Press, 2011) and “Together We Can Bury It” available now from The Lit Pub.

Viking Poet Ryan Snellman was raised on the dark and rainy streets of Seattle. Educated in an array of practical matters & living a life of quiet solitude one dreams of knowing the heart of a seagull. The life and love affair of a solitary raindrop speaks to the essence of poetry and those Christmas lights hanging in the window of the bar in the middle of January speak to life's unending dream. Ryan is a published poet, in the frequent flyer program for nutballs that see ballgames in all cities, and the co-organizer of the Coffee & Pie Reading Series. 
Christina Wheeler runs NEARSIGHTED NARWHAL, a shop located in Tacoma, Washington. The Nearsighted Narwhal's sole focus is the myriad forms of the DIY culture.  Over 1,000 self-published books, zines, and comics are housed within its four walls, with inventory growing daily. Not only catering to the bookworm crowd, there is also a well-stocked selection of music titles and art from local artists. Nearsighted Narwhal is also home to many creative events, shows, readings, and presentations for schools and organizations.

Jeremiah Walton is a poet and writer from New Hampshire. He travels around the country with Books & Shovels, the traveling bookstore that sells literature at a ‘pay-what-you-can’ rate, encouraging passionate living > making a living. Jeremiah is also the founder of Nostrovia! Poetry. 
Jessica Lindsley is an author and artist who grew up in North Dakota before the oil boom. She is a powerlifter. As a vocation, she practices thermography and ultrasonic imaging for a composite manufacturer. Jessica is the co-organizer and host of The Laughing Girls’ Present “Welcome to the Creepshow” Poetry Reading.

Alexandra Naughton is a writer in Oakland, California. Her first collection of poetry, I Will Always Be Your Whore [love songs for Billy Corgan], was published by Punk Hostage Press in January, 2014. She is the author of You Could Never Objecticy Me More Than I've Already Objectified Myself (Punk Hostage Press) and My Posey Taste Like (Bottlecap Press). Alexandra is the creator of BE ABOUT IT. BE ABOUT IT started as a literary/art zine in 2010. After four great years of zine publishing, ebooks, chapbooks, and a reading series based out of the East Bay were added to the mix. Bud Smith is the author of F 250, Tollbooth, Everything Neon, and Or Something Like That. He is the founding editor/publisher of Unknown Press. Bud is also part of the UNO KUDO collective that puts out a yeary anthology, an art meets lit explosion containing beautiful works from both award winning and amateur artists. Profits from the sales of Uno Kudo go to Pen International. Bud Smith lives in New York City, and works heavy construction in New Jersey, building and maintaining power plants and refineries.
