10m · Published 08 Aug 13:00
Dental hygienists are overpaid if they do the bare minimum.

One of the big mysteries of dental hygiene practice is how some hygienists are highly paid and some are not. Even people from the same class with the same grades have a per-hour discrepancy that defies logic. We bet there isn’t a dental hygienist reading this post who thinks they’re over paid. So, really, what does being over paid mean?

MMH 20 Ignore that biofilm and calculus

Continued learning and a growing knowledge of all causal triggers (risk factors) is crucial to changing the course of chronic inflammatory periodontal disease through targeted care.  While most CE courses continue to focus on the elimination of bacteria as the clinical goal, these narrowly focused methods and philosophies fall short in the successful prevention and treatment of periodontal diseases long term.  We can do better.
