In this episode, I talk with my good friend J. Deckert about how he uses revenue sharing as a business model. J. is a professional science nerd and long time combat sport practitioner. Trained in project management, BPMN, and lean six sigma, he specializes in taking these enterprise level tools and breaking them down for use by small to medium sized teams.


J is someone I talk about a lot, because his methods and practices have helped me become waaaaay more productive inside my business, with my client and internal projects, and in managing my never ending to do list and ideas. J shares why he decided to work with a revenue sharing model and what exactly it looks like in terms of working with his clients. In this episode I talk with Dustin Hogan, an inspirational speaker, entrepreneur, self-development mentor, and the founder of The Disciplined Dreamer movement. Whether it's rocking the stage as a DJ in front of 2,000 people, or working one on one with high school students, Dustin feeds off his connection with other people. Dustin and I recently connected online and I immediately invited him to share his wisdom around speaking and live events as a marketing strategy... because in this digital age, it's easy to forget that "in person" is a really powerful tool for growing your business.



Dustin and I talk about his background as a DJ and how that influenced his work as he began leaning into speaking and live events as a business model. In this episode I talk with Matt Giovanisci, creator of Swim University and the rap genius behind the Hashtag Hustle music video. Matt is a former pool and spa care nerd who created the site to help owners around the world, going against the grain in his own industry. Matt also runs Roasty Coffee and Money Lab, where he turns experiments into actual offerings for fun.


Matt and I talk about how he taught himself to code his very first website and worked to build something profitable in an industry that was primarily "boring" with mostly brick and mortar stores. He poured everything he had into making it happen, including selling his car and moving in with his younger brother to reduce expenses. He talks about his biggest blocks and what it took to overcome those hurdles, as well as his biggest insights into breaking out of the box in your own industry.
