Ellie Kay, American's Family Financial Expert Talks to the Chronically Ill

1h 1m · Published 28 Apr 17:00
If you live with an illness it's no secret your pocketbook is impacted. And it can be frustrating to hear all the financial "tips" such as "stop buying $3 coffees" when you are just struggling to figure out how to afford your medications.

Meet Ellie Kay. We are so excited to have her and thank her for taking the time to talk to our audience, because right now she is in high demand as a "American's Family Financial Expert." In fact, you may have seen her being interviewed on programs and for publications such as The New York Times, USA Today, CNBC, CNN, Fox, NPR, Redbook, Women's Day, Family Circle, Reader's Digest, and Parenting Magazine.

This Christian woman is an author of a dozen books, a popular speaker, corporate educator and spokesperson, and mother of seven. (Some of us may be most impressed that she is the mother of seven and has time to think straight about anything - especially something financial!)

Within two and a half years, Ellie Kay went from being a new wife and stepmom to two children with $40,000 in consumer debt to being completely debt free-all on one military income! So she knows what she is talking about! Within 15 years and while adding five more children to the family, Ellie and her husband were able to pay cash for their cars, buy and furnish two five-bedroom homes (one after selling the other), take wonderful vacations, dress fashionably, build a nest egg for retirement, send the kids to college loan-free, and give away more than $100,000 to nonprofit organizations around the world.

living-rich-for-lessEllie teaches people sound money habits that are do-able and will stretch their dollars. Her latest title, Living Rich for Less (Waterbook/Random House, January 2009), sets forth her 10/10/80T Rule--give away 10 percent of your income, save 10 percent, and spend the last 80 percent wisely!

In her free time, this self-professed “crazy woman” likes to have adventures. She says, “I make sure these are safe and supervised by licen

Pamlea Christian Shares How Cardiac Arrest at 47 Changed Her Life

59m · Published 21 Apr 17:00
On September 16, 2002 at age 47, Pamela Christian went to play tennis. She says, “I arrived feeling what seemed to be minor indigestion, which I'd felt for a couple mornings in a row and I just chalked it up to the cantaloupe I'd been eating.” But within minutes she couldn’t breath and 911 was called. They administered ADVANCED life support because what they witnessed was her suffering the onset of a sudden cardiac arrest.

A speaker and author, Pamela began The Bless Your Heart awareness campaign. She desires it to be your story as well as hers. Her web site www.blessyourheartcampaign.com states “Ours in that as you learn the heart facts, you share what you know with others. Together we're helping women everywhere become aware and very potentially saving lives! Here's where we can interact, share stories, recipes and more!”

A popular speaker and writer before, she's gone on to host both radio and television and lives her life with greater intensity than ever (and she was pretty intense before)! In 2003 she hosted The Pamela Christian radio show, a live 2-hour weekly call-in program. In 2005 she was hired by Salem Communications to host Life Line on KFAX in San Francisco, a 2 hour drive-time daily call-in talk show. Since January of 2006, in addition to traveling for speaking engagements, she's been published in a variety of venues, has created a television program she is working on and is pursuing various opportunities to host and guest host both radio and television. She was a featured guest on Focus on the Family March 2008. Whether it's media or personal speaking engagements what Pam wants to do most is make a difference in the lives of others.
