Ellen Mahurin, a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist will be joining Dog Talk's host Michelle Huntting to discuss what exactly to look for when hiring a skilled, qualified professional dog trainer.

Ellen Mahurin earned her master's degree in animal behavior from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She began pet behavior consulting under the name Clever Critters in 2004 in Knoxville, TN. Her business moved to Yorktown, VA in 2010. Ellen keeps up-to-date on scientific research in pet behavior and training. Her training methods effectively treat problem behavior, reduce stress for pets and people alike, foster inter-species communication and support the human-animal bond.

Dog Talk host, Michelle Huntting, will be joined by Jennifer Shryock to talk about the new dynamic for dogs as babies grow into toddlers.

Jennifer Shryock is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), owner of Family Paws™ LLC in Cary, NC and holds a degree in Special Education. Jennifer has written and spoken extensively about these topics. Her two programs, Dogs & Storks® and the Dogs & Toddlers™ have been featured in national media from The Wall Street Journal to TV and radio.

Bonnie Weimer Poirier, director of Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi, will be joning Dog Talk host, Michelle Huntting to discuss the spiritual influence that animals have in our lives.

Bonnie Poirier is an ordained ministry in the Congregational Church. Pet ministers provide a variety of community services, including pet grief support, memorial services, prayer for animals who are sick or injured, being present at a clinic to comfort the bereaved, and providing support during surgery or euthanasia.

Jane Messineo Lindquist (Killion) will be joining Dog Talk host Michelle Huntting to discuss puppy socialization.

Jane, author of When Pigs Fly, has spent the last 14 years creating a training system that works for "impossible" dogs. She now successfully helps others train their "impossible" dogs. Jane breeds Bull Terriers and has put dozens of titles on 7 Bull Terriers and 2 Australian Cattle dogs.
