What have you learned about life from your pet?  The animal human connection is so strong and we are constantly sharing and caring  feelings and thoughts with our pets.  And if we listen with an open heart, they can teach us so much about life. For example, much of what we have learned about faith has not come from a pulpit and the words of a "holy man."  Rather, it has come from watching and sharing with our pets.
Go ahead and bury your treasure, expect to find it laterHave a sure knowledge that sometimes re-homing is for the betterStop worrying and recognize that the universe knows what is for your highest goodKnow and understand that we are all connected by a spiritual bondForgive and forget. Don't hold grudges. This too shall passGo forward in life knowing you are loved unconditionally and I have your backRecognize the important messages that come in your dreamsAccept diversity in the eneighborhoodStop hiding your accidents and messes-you are not a mess or accident Be aware but not afraidUnderstand you are a teacher to someone and they need your messageDo walking and running meditations and be open to promptingsHave a solid understanding that you will never be forgottenThere is a "Rainbow Bridge" and we will be together in another plane of existence
Our pets give us such an unconditional love that it is a sacred trust we must honor to the best of our abilities.

When a friend or loved one has lost their pet, it is often very hard to know what to say to help.  With over 200 million pets owned in the US most of us will, at on time or another, be called upon to support an important person in our life in pet loss.

Bellow are some words NOT to say to someone who is grieving the loss of a pet.
1. it ws just a dog (cat, horse, vird, rabbit, gerbil, etc.)If losing a pet is doing this to you, I would hate to see what you would do if you lost something really important, like a child.At least you don't have the kitty litter (carpet spots, horse stall, cage) to deal with"They are in a better place"You can always get another dog (cat, horse, rabbit, gerbil)I thought you were prepared for this or You might have known this was coming.Enough time has passed, you should be getting over this by now or it's time to move on.
While it may be very hard to know what to say, an important part of support is knowing what not to say.
