Grieving the Loss of a Pet- 7 Things Not to Say to a Friend
14m · PublishedBellow are some words NOT to say to someone who is grieving the loss of a pet.
1. it ws just a dog (cat, horse, vird, rabbit, gerbil, etc.)If losing a pet is doing this to you, I would hate to see what you would do if you lost something really important, like a child. At least you don't have the kitty litter (carpet spots, horse stall, cage) to deal with"They are in a better place"You can always get another dog (cat, horse, rabbit, gerbil)I thought you were prepared for this or You might have known this was coming.Enough time has passed, you should be getting over this by now or it's time to move on.
While it may be very hard to know what to say, an important part of support is knowing what not to say.

Learning Life Lessons About Relationships With Your Pet (EXPERT)
28m · PublishedOur family used to think we needed to focus on teaching and training our pets. Actually, it was the other way around. While we were concerned that they know about “sit” “shake hands” and “fetch” they already knew all the important stuff in life like loyalty, kindness and love. We were blessed with the animal wisdom they shared with us
This week we will focus on relationships:
Protect your loved onesBe loyal to your pack membersAfter a conflict, shake it off and let it goSay what you mean, mean what you say, but don’t say it in a mean waySometimes the best idea when it gets stressful is to close your eyes and ignore itLove unconditionally without expecting anything in returnDon’t keep score of who does what for whom. You make the first moveBe open to being loved & accepted. Why wouldn’t someone like you?Enjoy compliments and pats on the backGreet your family with the same excitement I greet you.Watch for non-verbal cues to gauge the character of visitorsIf someone is mean to animals, they are not worth associating withUnderstand the true value of a good friend. Friendship is the basis for all relationshipsWhen someone is having a bad day, just sit close by quietly and listenBe kind to those who may never have a treat for youNever, ever lie or be unfaithful to those who love and trust you
